The Chiasm of Genesis 1:26-28
A chiasm is a literary structure where the words of the first section of a passage are repeated in inverted order in the second. Typically whatever is in the center is what is being emphasized. In Genesis 1:26–28 the emphasis is on the fact that man has been created in the image of God (Gen 1:27).
