The Chiasm of Luke 11:37-41
A chiasm is a literary structure where vocabulary of the first section of a passage is repeated in the second. The center of the chiasm is typically the climax of the passage. In Luke 11:37-41 the center and climax is that the Pharisees clean their outside but inside they are “full of robbery and wickedness” (Luke 11:29b-40).
