Chiasm of Mark 8:27-38
A chiasm is a literary structure where vocabulary of the first section of a passage is repeated in reverse order in the second. The center of the chiasm is typically the climax of the passage. In Mark 8:27-38 the center and climax is Jesus telling his disciples of his coming rejection by the chief priests and scribes and his resulting death (Mark 8:31b-c).
