Could a Covenant Be Reversed If It Had Been Made Under False Pretenses?
Could a Biblical covenant be reversed or modified if it was entered into based upon dishonesty by the recipient? The answer is No! Two examples illustrate this. Jacob’s deception of his father Jacob to receive the blessing meant for Esau (Gen 27) and the Gibeonites making a treaty with Israel by deception (Josh 9).
