The Jews of Judah never expected that God would allow their nation to be defeated by the wicked Babylonians. Yet it was in God’s plan that Babylon conquer his people. In the future God has shown that the antichrist will “make war with the saints and… overcome them” (Rev 13:7). Those future believers can learn from the response of those in Habakkuk’s day.
