In Matthew 25:1-13 What is the Significance of the Shout “Behold the Bridegroom!” Being at Midnight?
In the parable of the wise and foolish virgins (Matt 25:1-13) ,the shout “Behold, the bridegroom! Come out to meet him” is said to be “at midnight.” The reason for this is that in the previous chapter’s account of the second coming its primary signs are the darkening of the sun and moon (Matt 24:24:29) leaving the earth in total darkness.
