A chiasm is a literary structure where vocabulary of the first section of a passage is repeated in reverse order in the second. The center of the chiasm is typically the climax of the passage. In 1 Corinthians 12:13 the center and climax is that Jews and Greeks, slaves or free, are all part of the same body.AFor by oneSpirit we were all baptized into one body, Bwhether Jews or Greeks, B’whether slaves or free, A’and we were all made to drink of oneSpirit.
