The Chiasm of Acts 28:27
A chiasm is a literary structure where vocabulary of the first section of a passage is repeated in reverse order in the second. The center of the chiasm is typically the climax of the passage. In Acts 28:27 the center and climax is in Paul’s quotation of Isaiah 6:10, “THEY HAVE CLOSED THEIR EYES; OTHERWISE THEY MIGHT SEE WITH THEIR EYES.”
