A chiasm is a literary structure where the words of the first section of a passage are repeated in reverse order in the second. Typically whatever is in the center of the chiasm is what is being emphasized. In Exodus 40:34-35, the emphasis is on the fact that Moses was unable to enter the tent of meeting (Exod 40:35a).
