The Chiasm of Jeremiah 3:18-20
A chiasm is a literary structure where the words or themes of the first section of a passage are repeated in reverse order in the second. Typically whatever is in the center of the chiasm is what is being emphasized. In Jeremiah 3:18-20, the emphasis is on the fact that in the future God will unite the house of Judah and the house of Israel (Jer 3:18b-19).
