The Chiasm of Joel 2:28-29
A chiasm is a literary structure where the words the first section of a passage are repeated in reverse order in the second. Typically whatever is in the center of the chiasm is what is being emphasized. The center of Joel 2:28-29 is a prophecy indicating on whom the Holy Spirit would be poured on the Day of Pentecost (Joel 2:28c-e).
