The Chiasm of John 5:19-30
A chiasm is a literary structure where vocabulary of the first section of a passage is repeated in reverse order in the second. The center of the chiasm is typically the climax of the passage. In John 5:19-30 the center and climax is that ” just as the Father has life in Himself, even so He gave to the Son also to have life in Himself” (John 5:26).
