The Chiasm of John 6:59-71
A chiasm is a literary structure where vocabulary of the first section of a passage is repeated in the second. The center of the chiasm is typically the climax of the passage. In John 6:59-71 the center and climax is Jesus saying, “For this reason I have said to you, that no one can come to Me unless it has been granted him from the Father” (John 6:65).
