A chiasm is a literary structure where vocabulary of the first section of a passage is repeated in the second. The center of the chiasm is typically the climax of the passage. In Luke 10:21-24 the center and climax is Jesus’ statement, “All things have been handed over to Me by My Father, and no one knows who the Son is except the Father, and who the Father is except the Son” (Luke 10:22).
