A chiasm is a literary structure where vocabulary of the first section of a passage is repeated in reverse order in the second. The center of the chiasm is typically the climax of the passage. In Mark 14:53-72 the center and climax is Jesus answering the question of the high priest, “Are You the Christ, the Son of the Blessed One?” by saying, “I am; and you shall see the Son of Man sitting at the right hand of Power, and coming with the clouds of heaven” (Mark 14:61-32).
