A chiasm is a literary structure where the words and themes of the first section of a passage are repeated in reverse order in the second. The center of the chiasm is typically the climax of the passage. In Matthew 13:24-43, the center is the parable of the mustard seed (Matt 13:31b-32) and the parable of leaven (Matt 13:33).
