A chiasm is a literary structure where the words and themes of the first section of a passage are repeated in reverse order in the second. The center of the chiasm is typically the climax of the passage. In Matthew 15:21-28 the climax is the woman in faith saying that “even the dogs feed on the crumbs which fall from their masters’ table” (Matt 1525-27).
