A chiasm is a literary structure where the words and themes of the first section of a passage are repeated in the second. The center of the chiasm is typically the climax of the passage. In Matthew 22:1-10, the climax is the response of the king to those who killed his messengers. He was enraged, sent his armies, destroyed the murderers, and burned their city (Matt 22:7).
