The Chiasm of Matthew 7:24-27
A chiasm is a literary structure where the words or themes of the first section of a passage are repeated in reverse order in the second. The center of the chiasm is typically the climax of the passage. In Matthew 7:24-27, the center stresses the fact the wise man built his house upon a rock (Matt7:25b).
