A chiasm is a literary structure where the words or themes of the first section of a passage are repeated in reverse order in the second. The center of the chiasm is typically the climax of the passage. In Matthew 7:7-11, the center is two rhetorical questions to make the point that God will give good gifts to those who ask him. (Matt7:9-10).
