The Double Chiasm of Insiders and Outsiders in Mark 4:10-34
A chiasm is a literary structure where themes of the first section of a passage are repeated in reverse order in the second. The center of the chiasm is typically what is being emphasized in the passage. In Mark 4:10-34 the center of both chiasms is the outsiders (Mark 4:11b-19 and 4:25b-34a).
