There is a parallel in the Bible between creation and the incarnation. There are, first of al,l fiat declarations by God the Father. In creation these are found throughout Genesis 1 “Let there be….” It is Gabriel who brings God’s declaration to Mary in Luke 1:26-35. In both cases there is also a creaturely agency made fruitful by the Holy Spirit. In creation this is seen in Genesis 1:2; 1:11; 2:5; and 2:9. In the incarnation this is found in Luke 2:52.
