To appreciate a book one must understand its plot. Unfortunately few readers understand the plot of the Bible. Its plot begins in Genesis 1 and 2 where God places Adam and Eve in the world as his vassal king and queen to rule it for him. Then Satan came along and Adam and Eve switched their allegiance from God to him. When a president makes a treaty with another country, he is not making it for his wife and himself, he is making it for the whole nation. Similarly when Adam and Eve switched their allegiance to Satan, they took their kingdom with them. The plot of the Bible reveals how God is in the process of reestablishing his kingdom and subduing his enemies. In the book of Revelation we read how God will finally accomplish these two purposes.
