A chiasm is an inverted parallelism where words or themes are repeated in reverse order. When a chiasm has a center, the center is typically the climax of the chiasm. Genesis 1 – Joshua 24 is written as a thematic chiasm, with the climactic center being the making of the covenant at Sinai.
